Serious Sam is seriously expiration to Siberia
Following high on last workweek's tease, Devolver Extremity has now formally unveiled Real SAM: Geographic area Mayhem, a standalone expansion to Unplayful SAM 4 created by indie developer Timelock Studio apartment, formerly a cured-known Serious SAM modding team, that's working on the project under the guidance of original Serious Sam studio Croteam.
Siberian Mayhem features pentad "solid" new levels set in the rugged Russian north, with action running across the Arctic coast, stark forests, abandoned villages, and even a ghost town. Parvenu enemies and bosses wish join the original horde, to be spattered in fun and stimulating ways with new weapons and vehicles including snowmobiles and untested mechs.
It's clearly still very much the antiquated Difficult Sam, though, which is to say monumental hordes of ridiculous enemies charging the player from all directions while bullets fly and everything explodes. That's not a bad thing—really, it's the burden of the Serious Sam experience, and I am absolutely hither for that—but as I said when the new biz was 1st teased, I hope that on with all the virgin stuff in Siberian Mayhem, the designers have also demanding upwards the stage designs. Big levels are uppercase, but roaming aimlessly for minutes at once through open, empty spaces (my chief complaint about Serious Sam 4) is not.
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is available for wishlisting now on Steam, and will be available at a "sizeable" push aside for owners of Good Sam 4. (Sorry, no more actual numbers just yet.) It's set to come out along January 25.
